Smoke Odor Eliminator & Odor Blocking Paint
ECOBOND® OdorDefender® is a professional-grade Eco-friendly, odor-blocking paint specially designed for sealing & blocking dangerous odors and lingering fumes resulting from the secondary effects of cigarette, marijuana, fire, meth and other drugs as well as pet odors, and numerous other indoor air pollutants. The unique blend of food-grade mineral additives, alginates from seaweed and high-quality acrylic paint provide an excellent vapor barrier for the prevention of moisture and odor transference. ECOBOND® OdorDefender® will seal, block, absorb and capture odors & fumes on multiple surfaces, as a self-priming interior paint or topcoat, such as drywall, various wood species, OSB, concrete, aluminum, steel, and PVC.

Recommended Use
Use to seal, block, absorb and capture existing odors and fumes on various surfaces as a self-priming interior paint or topcoat. Ideal for home owners, apartment/multi-family, hotels, offices, retail/commercial/industrial facilities and schools. Perfect for restorations by home owners, multi-family, land lords, property managers, restoration professionals, maintenance and cleaning crews when preparing a property for renting or resale.
Coverage
300-400 sf/gl depending on surface texture, porosity and application method. Note: Recommended film thickness for single coat is 4-6 mil wet for typical application. Additional layers may be required for stronger odors/fumes.
Drying Times (@70-77°F, 50% RH)
- To the Touch – 2-4 Hours
- To Recoat/Topcoat – 4 Hours
Note: High humidity, low temperatures and poor ventilation will affect dry times.
Recommended Application Tools
- Airless Sprayer: Recommended tip size .017 – .021
- Roller: High quality 1/2” – 3/4” nap
- Brush: Nylon/Polyester blend
Mixing
Mix thoroughly for 1-3 minutes. Prior to use, mechanically shake or mix with a drill powered paint mixer.
Application
Prior to applying ECOBOND® OdorDefender® it is important that the substrate be thoroughly cleaned and dry. ECOBOND® OdorDefender® has superior adhesion on most properly prepared substrates. Apply when air and surface temperatures are between 50°-90° F and 10% to 60% relative humidity. Use a high quality 3/8-3/4” nap roller cover, nylon/polyester brush, or an airless sprayer (recommended tip size: .017-.021). Standard application is 1 – 2 coats at 6 wet mils each. For stronger odors another coat may be applied. Allow paint to dry to the touch prior to applying each coat.
Clean-up
Wash hands and tools with water. Clean up spills immediately with water.
Storage
Store in a dry place at temperatures between 50°F (4.5°C) and 90°F (32°C).
Disposal
Dispose of all waste in accordance to local, state and federal regulations.
